I absolutely MUST have the knife in order to make a sheath for it.
All of my sheaths are hand made by me in Windom, MN. Unless otherwise specified, the design is a wrap around, with lining leather on the welt seam. They have two rows of stitches that are hand stitched using the double needle technique. I use Vegetable-tanned leather, usually 7-8 oz. thickness.
The majority of my sheaths have an adjustable belt hanger. As far as I know, this is a unique feature, enabling a thigh dangler or a high belt carry without replacing the sheath. The holes are for screw posts or for cordage to set the adjustments. The belt hanger can also be removed to enable horizontal carry or mounting on pack straps. The straps are stitched on completely independent of the double stitched main welt seam. This makes the straps replaceable due to wear or if you desire a modification.
Sheath Types
- Expedition
The Expedition sheath is a deep pouch style. It has two horizontal straps and an adjustable belt hanger.
Price: $55 for blade length under 5", $65 for 5"-7" blade length, and $5 for every inch past that. (example: an 8" blade would be $70).- Explorer
The Explorer sheath covers just past the blade. It has two horizontal straps and an adjustable belt hanger. It also has a retaining strap with a snap.
Price: $60 for blade length under 5", $70 for 5"-7" blade length, and $5 for every inch past that.- Mini Explorer
The Mini Explorer is just like the regular Explorer, except it is smaller and only has one horizontal strap.
Price: $55 - ONLY blades under 4.5".- Ranger
The Ranger has one horizontal strap, with the belt loop folded down the back and stitched to the horizontal strap.
Price: $60 for blade length under 5", $70 for 5"-7" blade length, and $5 for every inch past that.- Outback
The Outback has a flap that covers the handle. It also has two horizontal straps and an adjustable belt hanger. The flap attaches to the first strap with a snap or a button stud.
Price: $65 for blade length under 5", and $75 for 5"-7" blade length.- Patriot
The Patriot sheath was designed for Koyote's Sgain Dubh and works with other small knives as well. It goes up just past the base of the blade. It has one horizontal strap, a retaining strap and an adjustable belt hanger. The retaining strap snaps onto the front and the back of the horizontal strap.
Price: $55 for blade length under 5", and $65 for 5"-7" blade length.- In The Waistband sheath
This sheath is a little slip with a strap on the front and a removable belt hanger attatched with a chicago screw. The belt hanger has a little bit of play to it, so it can comfortably fit inside the pants.
Price: $50 - ONLY blades under 5".- Sock sheath
The sock sheath was also designed for Koyote's Sgain Dubh, enabling it to be carried in your socks. It goes up just past the blade and has a single row of stitching all the way around the sheath.
Price: $35 for blade length under 5", and $45 for 5"-7" blade length.
